Description
The Arcadia Backpack Area is a primitive backpack/hike-in camping area in the Arcadia Conservation Management Area, within close proximity to the area's trail system.
This reservation is for the "Group Site".
Geography:
Located in West Greenwich, RI, this campsite is minutes from Route 95 and the Connecticut border.
Recreation:
This campsite offers campers the opportunity to backpack camp and have immediate access to trails directly adjacent to the camp.
Facilities:
This campsite offers a primitive camping spot, firepit ring, nearby pavilion with picnic tables, and drop toilet.
Nearby Attractions:
Arcadia Conservation Management Area, local restaurants.
NOTE: This reservation is for the "Group Site" only; it is a Backpack/Hike-In, Tent camping site.
Maximum occupancy is six (6) tents or twenty-four (24) people.
Site is approximately 1/3-mile behind gated access.
Parking available outside gate, in small dirt lot.
Gate must not be blocked if parking.
Camping is Not Allowed in the pavilion.
CAMPFIRES allowed only inside designated fire ring; must be attended at all times and fully extinguished, cold, before departing site.
Burning of campfires permitted between 5 PM and 10 AM only.
NOTE: Groups of 10 or more must obtain a Special Use Permit from RIDEM for use of the area. Details can be found here:
